Wandsworth Pupils Receive Thank You Letter from The Queen

Posted on: 07 Dec 2015

The local postman delivered a dose of excitement to the pupils at Wandsworth Preparatory School last week, as he brought them a letter from Her Majesty the Queen.

Queen Elizabeth II recently became the longest-reigning Monarch in British history, and to mark the occasion Wandsworth pupils sent her homemade cards and messages of congratulation.

The children were over the moon to receive a reply from one of Her Majesty’s Ladies-in-Waiting, thanking them for on behalf of the Queen and praising them for ‘the care [they] have taken with [their] cards’.

Bridget Saul, Headteacher at Wandsworth Preparatory School, said, “We are all delighted to receive a thank you note from the Queen! The children worked extremely hard on their cards and messages, and were bowled over to receive Her Majesty’s letter. It was an unexpected honour, and we plan to have the letter framed and displayed at our School.”
