The Swiss International School of Qatar to open in Doha 2017

Posted on: 13 Jul 2016

The prestigious Swiss International School of Qatar, a partnership between the State of Qatar and Bellevue Education, has opened for registrations and has already seen unprecedented demand for places.

The school, which has been approved by His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani and established under the leadership of the Attorney General His Excellency Dr. Ali Bin Fetais Al-Marri is set to transform the education landscape in Doha.

Opening in January 2017 for 3-5 year olds, and from September 2017 for all ages up to 18, the school is situated in a prestigious state of the art site in Al Luqta. It has been established to satisfy a growing need in Doha for school places.

Bellevue Education's other schools include a highly sought after girls' school in Switzerland, and a number of private schools in the UK.

The Swiss International School of Qatar will be a premium school offering the highest standards and aspirations for children, providing strong academic focus whilst encouraging a love of learning in all its pupils, all with full sport, drama and music programmes to ensure children benefit from a broad education.

“The Swiss International School of Qatar is an important milestone in the development of this great country,” said Dr. Ali Bin Fetais Al-Marri. “Education is one of our key development goals. This flagship school will ensure that families in Doha know that their children are receiving the very best education available.”

“I am honoured to be establishing such an important school in the centre of Doha,” said Mark Malley, CEO of Bellevue Education, who has been personally involved in setting up the school. “Doha is an important and influential city, and I am incredibly proud to be creating a school that will meet the aspirations of those living here. We will be providing a strong curriculum, great teaching and personal care that ensures that each child flourishes and succeeds.”

Chairman of Bellevue Education, Marwan Naja, believes that the Swiss International School of Qatar will provide Qatari and international families with a unique academic offering for their children. "Through delivering a multilingual international education the school will prepare students for an increasingly globalized world and provide them with invaluable intercultural awareness and communication skills," said Mr Naja.
