Norfolk House School pupils perform in musical celebration at the Royal Albert Hall

Posted on: 28 Jun 2018

Earlier this month, pupils from Norfolk House School in Muswell Hill took part in a special performance at the Royal Albert Hall.

Pupils aged 10 and 11 from the co-educational, independent school joined 2,000 other children from schools across Haringey, at the famous concert hall in South Kensington, to perform a concert of new works and pieces to showcase their musical talents.

Directed by Peter Desmond, Head of Music and Performing Arts in Haringey, the concert was themed around wildlife and the natural world and included performances from ensembles, orchestras, choirs and soloists, as well as group singing performances of two new compositions by local composers.

Norfolk House School’s Head Teacher, Paul Jowett, said: “We were delighted to be asked to join the ‘Haringey Goes Wild’ event at the Royal Albert Hall and being part of such a fantastic event in such an iconic venue was certainly a very proud moment for all our Form 6 children and their teachers.

Here at Norfolk House we place great value on providing a rich and varied curriculum to help pupils develop creativity and balance in all areas of learning. The children all performed remarkably well and I know they will cherish their memories from the day for a long time.”

Pupil Max G, aged 11, said: “It was a privilege to be part of such a big event at an iconic venue. This event also supported one of Norfolk House School’s core values: to be ambitious.”
