ISI sends Brabyns Preparatory School’s Early Years Department to the top of the class

Posted on: 06 Nov 2014

Following an Early Years inspection in September by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI), the inspection report rated Brabyns Preparatory School’s Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) provision as outstanding in all areas.

According to the report, “The Brabyns EYFS setting makes outstanding provision in meeting the needs of the children who attend. Consistently high standards of teaching and of care, together with an effective balance of adult-led and child-initiated tasks, enable children to reach, and often exceed their expected levels of development.”ISI Inspectors operate under the Ofsted framework, which is approved by the Department for Education.

Inspectors also noted that “A broad, exciting and lively curriculum is provided throughout every area of learning, with the added expertise of specialist teaching in Spanish, music, drama and physical education.”The school, which currently has 128 pupils, welcomes pupils from the age of two.

The Nursery is housed within two specialist classrooms, with a dedicated space for outdoor learning and play, overlooking the picturesque countryside that surrounds the school.

Head Teacher, Mr. Lee Sanders, was delighted with the results of the recent inspection.

“The report confirms my beliefs about the School and all that we offer and I am delighted the external inspectors found us to provide such an inspiring learning environment within our happy and caring School. The grading of outstanding in all four areas of the inspection is exceptional. You really cannot get better than that!”
