Mark Malley, a trained teacher, took over a troubled London preparatory school, Norfolk House School, in 2003. The school had just failed two school inspections and was on the verge of closing.
Mark set about turning the school around, applying the principles he believed in: investing in staff, investing in buildings and technology; creating an educational environment that inspires children to learn independently; building a broad curriculum that stretches young minds; and vastly increasing the extra-curricular offering so that every pupil can find their passion.
A year later, the school achieved an Outstanding inspection report from the Independent Schools Inspectorate. Within two years, Norfolk House pupils were gaining scholarships to some of the most academically selective senior schools in the UK; within three years, the school’s waiting list was being talked about in nurseries throughout North London.
Years later, Mark founded Bellevue Education to bring his vision to more schools: a vision for a group of exceptional schools that enable children and young people to achieve exceptional things.
Today Bellevue Education educates children throughout the UK, and across Europe and the Middle East.
